Current Leicester City hero Kelechi Iheanacho has been nominated for two awards following some stellar performances for the Foxes.

Vote Kels! He certainly has my support – guaranteed. To be fair, Iheanacho’s Premier League opposition for the EA Sports Player of the Month award for March should not be rated as high as the Fox because he came in as a replacement. And he’s not just an understudy for anyone – it’s Jamie Vardy ahead of him. A daunting prospect and task for the Nigerian. But he delivered.

Other EPL stars up for the EA PLPOTM accolade include: former Leicester man Riyad Mahrez – currently at Manchester City – Leeds United stopper Illan Meslier, Andreas Christensen of Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane – naturally, is he even on the list when he’s injured?! – Leandro Trossard of Brighton & Hove Albion, West Ham United loanee Jesse Lingard, and the similarly revitalised Manchester United defender Luke Shaw.

As I previously alluded, Iheanacho has my vote – ignore my blatant, partisan LCFC alliance – due to the fact that he’s produced as well if not better than the aforementioned targets, along with filling in for a footballing icon. Iheanacho netted seven times and assisted once in his last five outings for the King Power club.

Next. Stadium expansion size; interest in U-21 international. dark

That is a staggering output at the level of the English top-flight; not to mention three of those goal involvements being registered in an FA Cup quarter-final versus superclub Man United. Iheanacho’s finish at Burnley is also up for Goal of the Month; here’s the link to vote.

More Leicester City nominations

Brendan Rodgers will arguably deserve to be named Manager of the Year, especially if the Foxes manage to qualify for the Champions League or lift the cup trophy for the first ever time in their history.

Yet Rodgers has, however, also been recommended as the Barclays Manager of the Month, with domestic football finished until April. You can support the gaffer by clicking here. Vote for Iheanacho, too.
