Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has indicated the minimum length of time that he wants to remain in charge of the Foxes.

It was no secret that Rodgers is a fan of Pep Guardiola’s work at Manchester City – now the Northern Irishman has confirmed it personally. In addition to admiring the Spanish master’s tactics, man managing and football brain, the former Liverpool boss even tries to use a similar style and instructions for his team.

And Leicester usually do a good job of replicating some of the Citizens’ play; though there is still a gulf in class, as witnessed last weekend when Guardiola’s men won at King Power Stadium without having to get into top gear.

When asked if Leicester can achieve what Man City have in their recent glory years, Rodgers gave a rather cheeky but intriguing answer. Naturally the investment will never be matched by the owners in Leicestershire, however, the stability maintained now is something most of us supporters over age-30 never thought would occur.

"“If you can get me £500m, we probably won’t be too far off it [what City achieved, in humour]!”– Brendan RodgersVia Leicestershire Live"

Furthermore, the Leicester chief said he’d like to remain in his current position for a good while:

"“…hopefully, if I can be here for the four or five years Pep has been in charge, we [LCFC] can consistently get better.”"

What’s gonna happen with Leicester City loanee

Would you want to keep Cengiz Under if you were the Foxes gaffer, or would you advise it if you were part of the recruitment staff? No, me neither. Yet it is obvious the Turkey international is a talented wingman; evidently the place he makes his name and eventual home won’t be Filbert Way.

Telegraph journalist John Percy claims the King Power club are not interested in making the 23-year-old’s move permanent. Neither do they want to angle for a new loan. Under has only featured on 19 occasions for the east Midlands side; a mere one Premier League start has been afforded to the Roma man.

Speculation now argues that this will lead to Rodgers attempting to acquire another right-winger during the summer transfer window. Foxes of Leicester concurs with that particular prediction, along with not keeping Under.
