Is prominent football pundit and former Manchester United player, Gary Neville, right to dismiss Leicester City’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League?

Capriciousness is a long held trait we all exhibit in our love for football: my theory is that so many players – 22 – in a game, means lots of variables to effect swings from match-to-match. Therefore our opinions and impressions of athletes and teams vary and fluctuate wildly and often.

After predicting the Foxes would finish third in the Premier League recently, Neville backtracked following witnessing the fairly worrying West Ham United loss. Obviously the Perez party trio damaged the east Midlands side’s chances and preparation for said clash.

In fact, the Ex-Red Devil believes Brendan Rodgers’ men will fail to qualify for the Champions League and finish below fourth in 2020/21. And who could blame him? Bearing in mind the disastrous run-in last season which began with Caglar Soyuncu‘s petulant red card at Bournemouth.

Yet Neville is premature in broadcasting his expectations; unavoidable as it is due to his deserved status as arguably the most interesting and astute pundit summarising the game as well as its business.

Irrespective of Leicester’s terribly difficult last three EPL outings being Manchester United, Chelsea and finally Tottenham Hotspur, the upcoming four league games are absolutely winnable. Even when embroiled in a mini crisis.

Additionally, the Foxes can learn lessons from the last campaign’s disappointment, if wise. Furthermore, the tight nature of this team will hopefully be intact despite the selfish faction; one fine victory always makes everything seem better and would assist healing. Leicester City’s FA Cup semi-final

On Sunday the Foxes return to action to face similarly struggling Southampton in a hugely significant semi-final match. A chance to progress to the FA Cup final was considered a magical, fortunate and more often than not a once in a lifetime occasion for owners, players and fans alike.

However, the competition has lost some of its apparent gloss in recent years for some; but not Leicester supporters, who’ve been neglected with regards to this fabled silverware. LCFC have never lifted the FA Cup trophy.

It would be a fantastic achievement for the King Power Side to complete a historical domestic set of trophies with a maiden cup victory this season. Brendan Rodgers shares that opinion, and says he wants to win the tournament for the equally wonderful Srivaddhanaprabha family. The game kicks off at 18:30 on April 18, at Wembley Stadium.
