Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has provided some injury news for the Foxes. Ricardo Pereira is apparently carrying a knock.

Earlier on today, Tuesday, the Leicester boss gave a pre-match interview to sports media prior to the team entertaining West Bromwich Albion at King Power Stadium on Thursday. Of course, Rodgers was inundated with questions about any beforehand knowledge of the proposed European Super League; which Foxes of Leicester is united against. Along with this, he was asked for his opinions of the terrible, unsportsmanlike idea.

Just like every fan whom I’ve come across, the Northern Irishman is disgusted with a possible breakaway league which could plunge the English game into doubt as a whole. It was also refreshing to hear the gaffer lash out at injustice as his disposition is, admirably, such a calm one. Yet when words needed to be said and a stand taken – the Leicester chief stood firm.

Update on Leicester City defender Ricardo Pereira

Obviously we haven’t seen the usual Ricardo during this campaign. And nobody expected him to reach the high bar set by himself after such an awful injury – anterior cruciate ligament, or ACL – and extensive recovery period. Playing him on the left in an FA Cup semi-final, even in a more suitable attacking wingback position, wasn’t arguably the best idea from the normally astute Rodgers.

The boss wanted more out of the similarly struggling Timothy Castagne. Although Castagne did improve in the last 45 minutes, showing his formerly exceptional forward-thinking, penetrating runs more often.

Though Ricardo, who didn’t have his best game, was substituted after receiving a knock in the Southampton clash. Speaking on his defender/winger, Rodgers said that Ricardo endured a “blow on the calf”, which is why the Portuguese was withdrawn early in the second half at Wembley. Yet the former Porto man should be OK to feature versus West Brom:
