Brendan Rodgers explains why he won’t leave Leicester for Spurs
Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers has explained why Leicester City is the right club for him, and why he won’t leave the club for Tottenham Hotspur.
Hopefully concentration in the game will now move back to the actual sport of football, following the dismantling of the proposed European Super League.
Initially the breakdown of the new Euro competition began due to the withdrawal of English sides Chelsea and Manchester City. Then the disgraced owners of the remaining clubs decided to follow suit.
Some of them, including Manchester United, failed to even apologise for the disrespectful, selfish, money-grabbing manoeuvre within their self-serving press releases upon leaving the ESL.
As previously mentioned, we can now look forward to going back to normal; the ‘big six’ have also probably lost the chance for more revenue in appeasement for apparent prior unrealistic dividends.
Leicester City boss staying put
Foxes of Leicester’s focus returns to LCFC as of this moment. If there are any ESL updates that affect the team the we’ll report them. Otherwise – it’s back to footy!
Interestingly, Tottenham Hotspur made a secondary cynical move during the last two days: deciding to sack their manager Jose Mourinho on Monday morning as a potential distraction from their ugly involvement in the aforementioned uproar.
Obviously Mourinho had lost the Spurs players’ respect on the whole, isolating himself as he does with most squads. Yet the timing is transparent and an insult to all fans’ intelligence. However, none of this embarrassment will halt the North London outfit’s search for a replacement gaffer. Typically Brendan Rodgers’ name is in the frame, according to gossip.
Happily for the Blue Army, the Northern Irishman has distanced himself from taking the job at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. In addition to stating his love for his current appointment:
"“Tottenham is a fantastic club, it’s a huge club but my focus is here. I’m at a world-class training facility, the project we’re in here we still want to develop and have a lot of work to do.“I have a great connection with the players, the board and we have plans to keep progressing.“While I have the energy, the happiness and see that challenge continuing I’m very happy to be here. You can’t stop gossip but I don’t think about it.”– Brendan RodgersVia talkSPORT"
