Leicester transfers: Liverpool want to sign this Foxes star
Foxes of Leicester analyse Leicester City transfers rumours, as Liverpool apparently want to sign Foxes star Youri Tielemans.
We all saw it coming, didn’t we?: Tielemans being targeted by major clubs this summer was fairly predictable. When he lifted the FA Cup after scoring a cracking winner, it was worrying. Now that Georginio Wijnaldum is departing Anfield – it seems inevitable that the Reds will go in for the deep-lying playmaker.
Two other ridiculously enticing sides who are said to be monitoring Tielemans are Manchester United and Barcelona. “Great” the Blue Army collectivity sarcastically think to themselves. You can read FoL’s coverage and details of that interest by clicking here.
Personally, I believe the former AS Monaco man has the quality to be a part of teams such as Man United or Barca. Though, possibly, at the moment Tielemans would be a squad player at those superpower football outfits. I’m not belittling the exquisite midfield man, far from it: I’m merely suggesting that he is almost at that level. Perhaps that assessment will be instrumental in a hopeful extended stay on Filbert Way with LCFC.
Are Liverpool interested in acquiring Leicester City star?
At the moment this supposed attraction from the Merseysiders towards the Belgium international seems to have evolved from social media speculation to news paper talk. Daily Express have spoken on the rumour today; the outlet only says “reports” claim that the 24-year-old is a potential target to replace Wijnaldum at Anfield.
Additionally, Daily Mail has also published a piece about the hearsay:
"According to Belgian publication Het Nieuwsblad, the 24-year-old is on Liverpool’s list should they try and sign a midfielder replacement for Wijnaldum this summer. It’s believed Manchester United, as well as the biggest clubs in Spain, would also be interested should Tielemans become available, with the player’s emotional lap around the pitch after Leicester’s final match of the season potentially a sign he could be on his way out.Matt Verri For Mailonline"
