According to a couple of claims, Leicester City are on the precipice of their initial transfer of 2021. The Foxes have apparently agreed a fee for striker Odsonne Edouard of Celtic.

Great news – an apparent signing! If reports are to be taken on face value, Leicester will capture prolific Celtic goalscorer Edouard.

Jamie Vardy was joined up front by Kelechi Iheanacho in recent times for the Foxes, but Brendan Rodgers confirmed he wanted to add firepower to his ranks.

Jason Bourne – who is not the inspiration for the character played by Matt Damon, incidentally – of TalkSPORT wrote the above tweet on the matter. It appears, if Scotland’s Sunday Times is also to be believed, the Frenchman is an imminent signing from the Hoops. Bourne says his information, which accompanies and complements the Scottish headline, is that it is only a “matter of time” before Edouard is an official Fox.

Fans of Leicester can be comforted and further enthused for the upcoming campaign as well as another Champions League quest, by the fact that the King Power club is said to have ‘beaten’ Arsenal to the signing. The Gunners are becoming a bit of a Premier League rival of LCFC, as are their main local competitors Tottenham Hotspur. Wesley Fofana wearing an Arsenal jersey didn’t help to diffuse online taunts.

Leicester City release nine

Over the weekend Leicester confirmed the release of nine players, some from the senior roster and the remaining number made up from LCFC’s Development Squad. A trio of title-winning athletes left the club: Wes Morgan, Matty James and Christian Fuchs.
