Leicester: How long Fox should be unavailable due to injury
Leicester City defender Timothy Castagne suffered four fractures around his eye socket at Euro2020. But how long is the Fox unavailable due to injury?
How unfortunate for Timothy Castagne: the Belgium international was involved in a horror aerial clash against Russia at the Euros in his first game of the tournament.
Castagne’s initial season in England also wasn’t the easiest, which you may not have noticed due to a great Premier League campaign and an FA Cup trophy. Yet injuries, being played out-of-position, mildly inconsistent form, along with a challenging coronavirus affected world made for trying times.
However, as Castagne still applied himself that efficiently as well as producing some great displays for the Foxes, it is clear that the 25-year-old is a particularly standout asset on Filbert Way. Expect to see the former Atalanta man back in the starting line-up in 2021/22.
Although, there may even be an upcoming battle with Ricardo Pereira to secure the right-back/right-wingback role due to the possibility of acquiring a full-back at the level of German Robin Gosens.
Nevertheless, there has been an update on Castagne’s fitness following his fairly severe problem sustained on national service. And, happily, he will apparently be available for pre-season training at Leicester:
"“(Castagne has) three or four fractures. He will recover perfectly, but that will take about six weeks.”– Roberto Martinez, via LCFC Live"
Alert for Leicester City fans
Foxes of Leicester wants to take this brief opportunity to remind all season ticket holding supporters that the club has announced a renewal date. In addition, LCFC says standing direct debit payments will not apply and need to be re-done. If existing fans with STs do not renew by June 21, their places will be available to Foxes members.
