Jamie Vardy’s mark will indelibly be forever etched into Leicester City history. But with the legendary striker ageing, investing in a USA club and new attackers potentially imminently arriving on Filbert Way, what’s next for the former England man?

By this time next week, Leicester and their faithful should be welcoming Boubakary Soumare and Patson Daka to the mighty Foxes. In addition to Ryan Bertrand, if Robin Gosens can’t be secured. Daka is a particularly promising young attacking talent and could well be a candidate to attempt to replicate what Jamie Vardy produced for the King Power club.

This means Odsonne Edouard is not to be signed; the Celtic man’s proposed deal broke down because the Hoops want to add ‘Brendan Rodgers tax’ after losing him to LCFC. Along with the Scottish Premier League runners-up having to give Paris Saint-Germain a large percentage of whatever fee they eventually receive for their asset. That is due to the Frenchman having a cunning clause placed into his contract upon leaving the giants from France.

Next season Leicester’s No.9 is still expected to make a large contribution to the side and campaign in general. Though the fact that he was overtaken for the first time in half a decade as the team’s top goalscorer is an indication that Vardy won’t be around forever. Sorry to burst the indestructible Vardy immortality bubble.

When Daka joins the Foxes, there will be three great, senior options up front; yet there may only be one or two positions available for the trio, depending on which formation Rodgers utilises.

But Vardy is not worried, he’s excited. When NBC’s Arlo White asked the ex-international about a fight for roles, Vardy replied with these comments:

"“Competition’s brilliant. It’s what you want and it’s what you need as well as a player.“There’s no way you can play 90 minutes every single game and not have a chance of getting injured, so you need that competition."
