Tenacious midfielder and Leicester City academy graduate, Hamza Choudhury, is apparently pushing for loan move to a Premier League club this transfer window. Will his wish be granted? Foxes of Leicester examines the situation.

There is always a place for a player such as Hamza Choudhury in any football squad, at any level of the game, as FoL see it. It just so happens that Leicester already have ample quality in that defensive-minded role – Wilfred Ndidi, new signing Boubakary Soumare and Papy Mendy – with Choudhury deserving to be playing week-in-week-out in the English top-flight.

Evidently the 23-year-old is fourth in the pecking order on Filbert Way. Mendy is also more than talented enough to begin EPL matches as a starter; though the Frenchman and Englishman would both possibly would have to drop down in team status to a bottom half outfit to do so.

Choudhury is now reportedly reluctant to remain at King Power Stadium, as he enters a crucial stage of his playing career. He has been previously linked with a permanent switch to Newcastle United, though a loan may be the best option at present according to a report:

New Leicester City signing’s verdict following initial Foxes appearance

Patson Daka started in the first eleven – meaning the first half XI, as opposed to Brendan Rodgers’ completely different second half line-up following the half-time whistle – against Burton Albion on Saturday. That side eventually lost to the Brewers – named for their connection to the Bass family and brand – on penalties as it was the off-season Bass Charity Vase match of 2021.

While Daka was not provided with the appropriate service to showcase his skill set in full, the Zambian did show electrifying pace, willingness, anticipation and a very strong determination to win the ball and to generally succeed or score.
