Foxes of Leicester potentially has significantly exciting news for you today, via a sports journalist who specialises in the Bundesliga. Will Leicester City finally sign an appropriate winger? Leon Bailey could be a great signing for Brendan Rodgers.

OK, let’s waste no time on pleasantries with this one and get straight down to business. German football reporter Stefan Bienkowski suggests Leicester have entered a “bidding war” with Aston Villa as well as Wolverhampton Wanderers for the signature of Leon Bailey.

Although, at this stage only a Villa offer has been made ‘public’; that apparent €30millon bid was rejected as Bayer Leverkusen are said to be holding out for €45m. FoL believe LCFC will begrudge or even refuse paying that amount for Bailey, despite his obvious quality.

In addition, Bienkowski claims any deal will perhaps hinge on Jack Grealish’s prospective £100m transfer to Manchester City; the Villans would clearly have a gap to fill and the funding to do so in that scenario. FoL also sees Bailey as a contender to finally fill Riyad Mahrez’s exquisite boots.

In the previous two practice matches, the east Midlands outfit were beaten by Burton Albion on penalties in the Bass Charity Vase. Following this the King Power side lost 1-0 to Wycombe Wanderers. However, Foxes fans should not put too much stock into the defeats as Rodgers uses two separate starting elevens in both halves. And this period is more about fitness and readjustment.
