After a much-needed international break, Leicester City face a daunting test in the form of the Champions, Manchester City. The Foxes have already beaten Pep Guardiola’s team in the FA Community Shield; albeit against an understrength Man City side. Since then some things have changed and some things haven’t. Man City have just won back-to-back 5-0 victories (admittedly against the worst two sides in the league), whilst Leicester City have struggled through with injuries and near-calamity.

Past meetings

Since returning to the Premier League in 2014, Leicester City have faced the Citizens 15 times; winning 5, drawing 2 (losing on penalties) and losing 7. When considering how dominant Man City have been in recent years, this isn’t anything to be ashamed of.

In more recent years (taking the last couple of seasons into account) Leicester have scored several impressive victories. These being the 5-2 at the Etihad last season, where Jamie Vardy spearheaded a counter-attacking masterclass; as well as a credible 1-0 triumph in the Community Shield. The question is, can Rodgers’ men pull out the stops once more in the league? Please click on the supplied link below to access the next page and continue reading the article’s second page.
