According to a report, Leicester City are still monitoring West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen with a possible transfer move in mind.

In the past, prior to his slightly risky yet major move from Championship to Premier League with the Hammers, the Foxes held an interest in versatile Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen.

And that attraction has not cooled, with respected English news outlet Independent suggesting Leicester are joined by Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and an unnamed host of top-flight sides in the quest. The publication cites Bowen’s dogged and refined display versus Manchester United as a catalyst in reigniting a possibly pending battle for his signature.

Unfortunately for those clubs, especially LCFC as a smaller overall team with less available funds and pull, West Ham will be uninterested in selling their asset for the exact same reason the aforenamed sides want him – he is a consistently quality, homegrown performer.

Leicester City wanted Jarrod Bowen

There is no way to put it other than this: Leicester should have waited for or paid the quoted pricetag for the 24-year-old before WHU sealed a ‘£20million+’ deal for him. In addition, signing Ayoze Perez instead – if you want to consider the situation that way – six months ahead for a still astonishing £30m was a big mistake.

Perez’s agent has already hinted that his client may take the free way out when his contract expires; if that scenario is allowed to occur, the Spaniard will be the biggest waste on Filbert Way since Islam Slimani.

Furthermore, with the rivals for Bowen as well as David Moyes’ appreciation of the wingman, it is unlikely they will release him for anything less than a staggering fee. I remain insistent that Ademola Lookman is an underrated loan switch for the Foxes.
