A rough couple of results that have raised concerns over Leicester City’s defensive incapabilities. The team is desperate to find a quick fix.

Time and time again, Brendan Rodgers’ side has jeopardized their results this season. Residing in 13th place in the Premier League table, Leicester City has dropped points against West Ham, Manchester City, Brighton, and Burnley. The latest ones amongst those fixtures against Brighton and Burnley are the ones where criticism lies.

The Foxes looked out of depth, making questionable decisions that saw the opposition gain the upper hand just by exploiting Leicester City’s weakness. The same happened when City hosted Napoli for their Europa League clash. For the better part of the match, City had the upper hand enjoying a lead of 2-0 in their favor.

Things remained so until the King Power club’s defense was split open by Victor Osimhen, who exploited his way twice to equal the scoreline to a stalemate draw. It has been going on regularly as the new patterns of defensive partnership aren’t working out all that well.

"“It was a little frustrating in terms of the result. We were much better going forward, we were much more creative, we created a number of opportunities, and scored two excellent goals. Burnley defended their box so well, they made some great blocks and last-ditch tackles. I’m more worried about how we defended, we can be much better in terms of our defending. Overall, we created enough and a point was deserved in the end.”– Brendan Rodgers on the draw with BurnleyVia Leicester Mercury."

Many fans are still optimistic towards the team accrediting the shambolic defensive displays as a reason for being amidst an injury crisis at the backline. But if the team starts to stall and does not take charge of the situation soon, it won’t be long before we lose all our momentum. The club cannot afford to miss out on a European spot.

Leicester City is more threatening in its attacking department, and that’s how Rodgers should be playing by incorporating attacking combinations that complement the side’s mentality. The defense can be reworked and mended over the coming weeks. Until that is happening to play to our strengths seems like the most logical quick fix.

"“Every week we’re saying we have character and we’re coming back from 1-0 down and things like that, but we have to be smarter and not go down. We have to start straight in the game. We have character, that’s for sure, but we want points as well.”– Timothy Castagne told LCFC TV"

Timothy Castagne told best when he honestly recited the shortcomings that we have right now. Tactically, there is a lot that can be reworked. Living in denial will only make things worse. The season is a tough one, and we started with a defensive disadvantage. But to measure ourself we need to get results and gather points to at least remain in the top half of the league.
