Not since the Adrien Silva-14 second debacle have Leicester City looked such fools, after Kelechi Iheanacho was denied entrance into Poland for documentary reasons.

Like I just referenced, the Portuguese’s absolutely ridiculous and embarrassing beginning with Leicester was stunning, but this incident is slightly similar and almost as bad. Ironically, Silva defiantly wore squad number 14 – as does Iheanacho these days.

Accidents like this are all the more surprising because the Foxes generally have such a well-ran club. LCFC prides itself on being organised, family-oriented and deadly to any opposition on the pitch on their day.

With Kelechi Iheanacho one of the, if not the, most important and in form assets over the last year, the silly scenario Brendan Rodgers finds himself in was completely avoidable. Surely the plentiful behind-the-scenes staff at LCFC look at players’ paperwork, passports, information and check it twice prior to any crucial international trip and matchup.

Clearly Iheanacho’s documents were not perused; if particulars were examined then it was not done correctly. You wouldn’t be shocked to hear that someone at Leicester lost their job over this level of incompetence that is quite difficult to believe as a fan that supports the club for nights like these as thousands of others do, too!

Although I personally don’t a advocate the sack – just much improved training and discerning, fastidious attention to detail in all team matters, admin-related or otherwise.

Why Leicester City man was turned away

Apologies, but this calamity was difficult to write about and understand without using a critical, parental-like tone. Anyway, the reason why the fan-favourite was denied entrance into Poland and subsequently won’t feature against Legia Warsaw in the Europa League is so simple that will inevitably annoy the Blue Army further:
