Pressure is mounting on Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers, and the absence of midfield interceptor Wilfred Ndidi will only add to the team’s woes.

Rodgers recently revealed that the Foxes defence was his main concern at present, and he is correct to identify the area. Not that anyone who has seen a Leicester game this season needed to be informed of that plainly obvious fact.

Nevertheless, at least the zenic gaffer is not oblivious to the issue, regardless of his unwillingness to label other failures of his side as a whole. Nor will the Northern Irishman criticise individuals who probably deserve to be named and shamed consequently of such garbage performances on wages that would make your eyes water.

Rodgers does, however, call out his own misgivings, mistakes and inaccurate tactics. And whilst that quality is admirable, there appear to be an increasing amount of failures that the former Liverpool boss has to own up to.

The #RodgersOut brigade on social media may feel vindicated by another uneven display and poor result – especially after leading 2-0 at a mediocre club – yet he remains the best choice for LCFC as Foxes of Leicester views it. We ain’t gonna get no better in at King Power Stadium, mate.

Another injury blow for Leicester City

Technically, Ndidi was already an injury worry and solely missed player as he was not available for the disappointing draw with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park due to a hamstring problem.

Evidently the injury is worse than first feared because Rodgers suggested post-match that the Nigerian could be out until as long as November. Hamza Choudhury did a brave job deputising – but Ndidi is a seemingly irreplaceable cog in the LCFC machine.
