Leicester boss defends the signing of Vestergaard

Leicester City signed Ryan Bertrand and Jannik Vestergaard from Southampton, and many supporters have been bemused. Here is what Brendan Rodgers thinks.

After joining the club in the summer, Bertrand and Vestergaard have started plenty of our opening seven Premier League matches and featured in the Europa League and domestic cups.

There are two prevailing opinions in the Foxes‘ supporter base regarding these players. Firstly, bemusement at their poor form after decent starts. Secondly, a wish to give them more game time to adapt to our play style.

The King Power gaffer is known for his calm and long-term view on things, rarely being drawn into controversial commentary on matches or players. So, you can expect more of the same over the signings.

As per LeicestershireLive, Rodgers is not concerned with Vestergaard’s poor form – not publicly at least. This could in fact be due to Vest’s form not being all that bad. Nevertheless, Rodgers’ comments are interesting.
