Players to sell

Filip Benkovic:

As Leicester manager, one of your priorities ought to be to put Benkovic’s LCFC career out of its misery. Whilst the Croatian has a 3.5-star potential rating, at already 24 years of age it’s unlikely he will fulfil such promise. The game values him at around £20-25m but you will likely have to settle for much less to get him sold.

Nampalys Mendy:

Nampalys Mendy can count himself unfortunate to be frozen out in real life and the same applies to FM. Unfortunately, the registration rules for Europa League requires four academy graduates, meaning Mendy may have to make way to free up spaces and budget.

Ayoze Pérez:

This is one that many Leicester fans would have been only too happy to offload last summer due to his poor season. In the world of FM, this may be a chance to fulfil those dreams with Pérez wanted by Rafa Benitez’s Everton. He does remain a versatile squad player, but for the money/wages he would free up it’s probably a sensible choice to list him.

Hot Prospects

Luke Thomas:

The most obvious pick of the bunch is Syston-born Luke Thomas who starts with 2.5 stars overall rating as well as a massive 5-star potential. It’s worth nurturing the left-back, slowly integrating him into the side or sending him out on loan as he will need match experience to fully develop. Nevertheless, in a few seasons time with the right work, Luke Thomas could be a permanent fixture on the left-hand side for both club and country!
