Following a frustrating draw against Spartak Moscow, Leicester City travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United for a Premier League clash.

The supporters in the blue army must have thought that their growing agony regarding the number of players sidelined through various reasons would come to an end soon. However, it wasn’t the case in the last midweek game at King Power Stadium where Harvey Barnes, James Maddison and Jannik Vestergaard were left out due to sickness from a bug. The hosts surely could have used Harvey Barnes and James Maddison in the match which ended in a frustrating 1-1 draw.

The Portuguese fullback Ricardo Pereira was also rested because of a knock he sustained against Brighton in the Carabao Cup clash and has been out for two of the previous City outings. Apart from all the negativity surrounding the fitness of Brendan Rodgers’ men, there was some good news too. Stalwart Wilfred Ndidi returned against the Russian opponents in the Europa League where he came on in the second half.

The gaffer gave an injury update for the first team members in a pre-match interview for the clash against Leeds at Elland Road on Sunday:

"“Hopefully those that were out should be available, Harvey and James Maddison. Wilf Ndidi got some game-time (against Spartak) which is great. Ricardo Pereira should be fine also. We should get a few players back for the weekend.”– Brendan Rodgers"

Speaking more on the Nigerian International the boss said, “(Ndidi) is very important for us from a defensive perspective, he covers a lot of space in the defensive moments where you need a player to get back in. He’s a very important player for us and it’s great to have him back,” reported Leicester Mercury.

Henceforth, other than Marc Albrighton, Wesley Fofana and James Justin, everyone else should be in contention to face Leeds United. Marcelo Bielsa’s men have been struggling for form themselves while the visitors need to bounce back after the defeat to Arsenal at King Power Stadium.
