The Brendan Rodgers leaving Leicester speculation is wild
Nevertheless, Rodgers has consistently stated he remains committed to the Foxes, and that he is extremely happy working with this set of players and our board. A board committed to sustainable growth and team-building.
It is also likely that the head coach will have a transfer budget in the January window to try and pick up better results going forward, with forwards and defenders still hot in the scouts’ minds. It seems strange to consider the Northern Irishman with no budget and with an upset team.
I do not believe a January switch is likely. Solskjaer may not remain at the helm for much longer, but Leicester would not like to lose Rodgers mid-season when they still have plenty of points to play for.
Any move would need to be under the rumoured release clause, which requires the Red Devils to remain in the UEFA Champions League and pay a substantial fee. I doubt they would pay up for him when they have other – possibly cheaper and better suited – coaches to go for.
