Jamie Vardy – 6

Didn’t threaten Mendy’s goal but was his normal enthusiastic self throughout. He pressed in an odd way though, only seeming to go as far as arms-length to the opposition – strange.

Harvey Barnes – 5

Playing with his back to goal constantly and having to come inside is very easy for Chelsea to defend. Needed some balls over the top and to attack the front foot. Continues his stuttering start not helped by his substitution at halftime.

Ademola Lookman – 5

Didn’t mind picking the ball up in deep areas but was again found wanting when attacking out wide. A difficult day for him to get going. Sacrificed at halftime.

Subs

Kelechi Iheanacho – 6

Like the rest of the team, he struggled to get involved but at least started to get into the physical side of the game by placing himself in Rudiger’s positions. Seems to have lost some sharpness since the start of the season.

James Maddison – 6

A few nice plays and touches as well as a shot, but his lack of aggression and pulling out of challenges isn’t going to get his regular starting place back. Putting him out on the left continues to be a waste of his talent.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 6

Looked lively and wanted the ball in tight areas, but still lacked that final ball to get him over with the supporters. Although a way-off he still seems the nearest Leicester has in terms of a Youri Tielemans back-up.

Brendan Rodgers – 4

Some really strange tactical decisions ahead of the game. Even though he has been vocal about preferring his Leicester team to play a back 4 he decided to match his superior opponents and put players in mismatched duels: Albrighton against Chilwell springs to mind. Surely Castagne would have dealt with Chilwell easily and Luke Thomas could have continued on the left? He was even interviewed after the game saying that today we were playing a 3-5-2 which if anyone could show me where I would be most grateful. Ultimately his players didn’t seem ready, sharp or believe they could beat Chelsea. And please for the love of God, sort these set-piece goals out – it’s beyond embarrassing.
