Significant vote of confidence for Daka as fans favour him to Vardy
New Foxes hero Patson Daka has received a massive vote of confidence from Leicester City supporters in the most significant way.
Leicester may just have the ideal replacement for iconic Fox, Jamie Vardy. As someone who analyses the Foxes as part of my job and a supporter of the club for nearly 25 years, I actually never thought LCFC would be able to find an attacker that replicates some of the former England international’s play. Not to mention the passion as well as desire.
Yet I can safely assert, albeit an early assessment, that new striker Patson Daka might just be the perfect heir to Vardy’s mantle. Yeah, I know, the Blue Army are very lucky to even have the possibility of a true successor.
Like I previously said, this is still an untimely declaration, but Daka is firing on all cylinders whilst ultimately starting over his rival teammate in a particularly important clash, the Newcastle United game. In which the Zambian scored once again.
Anyway, forget my endorsement of the 23-year-old, more crucially the Leicester fans seem to commend the attacker fully, too. You can see for yourselves in the below tweet poll Foxes of Leicester put to their followers – with a fairly surprising answer if you ask me. Clearly Vardy’s minutes must be managed with care, but I would have expected the faithful to still favour him in vital contests.
Leicester City versus Tottenham Hotspur set to go ahead
Reports and information at the time of wiring, Tuesday afternoon, suggest the east Midlands outfit are due to play Tottenham in spite of a covid outbreak in the Foxes and Spurs squads. However, the North London club has reopened its training facility.
Leicester had seven players unavailable for the Napoli and Newcastle United meetings because of the virus, along with an unnamed illness. Luckily for the King Power team, only Ademola Lookman was a regular starter in the absent group.
Conveniently Dan Amartey is now available for selection and actually needed as Jonny Evans is expected to be sidelined for an unconfirmed “while“, according to Brendan Rodgers. The manager also expressed his intention to complete the upcoming fixture.
