According to a report, Leicester City are apparently interested in arranging a cut-price deal involving a creative Premier League player.

Manager of Leicester, Brendan Rodgers, has all but categorically confirmed that the Foxes will not spend any money on incoming talent during this month’s transfer window. Whether that decision by LCFC hierarchy or their ownership proves to be wise or miserly obviously remains to be seem.

Nevertheless, the Northern Irishman did however reaffirm that the King Power side are in the market for a defender. Specifically a centre-back; with three or four first choice options currently unavailable for various reasons.

Therefore Sunday’s fresh rumours of Leicester’s supposed interest in Norwich City playmaker Todd Cantwell feels unlikely on two counts. Firstly Rodgers denied funds are available; whilst secondly defensive minded personnel are required, not midfielders.

While Cantwell would be a great addition to the Foxes squad, especially at the ridiculously low fee of £15million, a permanent deal is not on the cards for January. There is more on LCFC’s apparent monitoring of the Canaries man below:

"LEICESTER have joined the host of clubs considering a January swoop for Norwich’s Todd Cantwell. The Canaries want around £15m for Cantwell, whose contract expires in the summer.Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle, Leeds and Roma are also keeping tabs on the wideman’s situation. But if no club meets the valuation and agrees a deal in the current window, it is believed that Norwich intend to trigger the option to keep the former England Under-21 international for another year. The Sun"
