Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers threatened to withdraw one of the young FA Cup debutants during the Watford win at the weekend.

Who would have ever thought having 17 first team squad members unavailable – yes, seventeen! – could ever be a blessing in disguise?! Following peripheral personal combining to produce one of the best Foxes displays of the season along with one of the highest scorelines.

Veteran midfielder Marc Albrighton captained a Leicester starting eleven which contained a 21 year old debutant, as well as another Under-23 man. Those two were Lewis Brunt and Vontae Daley-Campbell, with the former performing admirably.

Many of the fresh faces already appear to have what it takes to possibly become Premier League standard athletes. Which is amazing news for LCFC and their followers. A third inductee was 16 year old Will Alves.

Alves is obviously a very young but skillful player, and while his gaffer was pleased he was on the field showing confidence, the Northern Irishman had to chastise the starlet on one occasion in the cup contest.

You see, at one point the youthful attacking midfielder lost possession near to where Rodgers was standing in the manager’s technical area and the incident was not missed by the boss:

Another postponement and upcoming Leicester City game

As I am sure you are aware, the east Midlands team’s subsequent clash to the Hornets match was supposed to be a rearranged English top-flight fixture versus Everton. That game was duly cancelled once more and will now be arranged again.
