Leicester City’s defence may look very different in the next game

Leicester City fans will be delighted with having more defensive options for their next game against Graham Potter’s Brighton & Hove Albion.
After a switchblade stabbed right through the hearts of the Blue Army, the concerned mass has been relentlessly monitoring an expected response that is not arriving from the club anytime soon. Yes, we are talking about the club’s bizarre decision of not spending their pockets to land in a centre-back for the fragile defense.
With many players out via injuries and international commitments, things looked dire from above. However, it’s confirmed that Daniel Amartey is back at Seagrave and is available for selection ahead of matchday 23 of the Premier League.
Amartey’s early return is due to the direct consequence of the shock of the tournament. A modest side of Ghana was eliminated by the underdogs, Comoros, in the Africa Cup of Nations group stages. It has been a humiliation for Ghana, as a nation, to go out of the tournament like that, but it is certainly a silver lining for the Leicester City fans.
Brendan Rodgers shouldn’t pair Jannik Vestergaard alongside Çağlar Söyüncü after the abysmal performance both of them put against Tottenham. The good thing now is that he has options- which he didn’t last week.
Leicester City has conceded 36 goals this season. It is the worst defensive record from a side that isn’t in the bottom six. The Ghanian has been a solid performer in as whenever he has played- the outfit manages to cope better against oppositional threats. City has only kept five clean sheets across 30 games in all competitions, with Dan featuring in four of those.
Another news is the clearance for James Justin. The wingback has been missed wholeheartedly for 11 months. Though Timothy Castagne, Ricardo Pereira, Ryan Bertrand, Jonny Evans, and Wesley Fofana are not available, the Foxes can be hopeful of doing better than their last outing.
