Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has explained that he had to remind Patson Daka of the reason why he had been signed by the Foxes.
Rodgers rather candidly revealed that he was forced to explain to Daka why the King Power club wanted him on their team. This was an instinctively tactful but still instructive move from the noted man manager. How cordial.
Other bosses – possibly from a bygone era – would not have employed any sensitivity when directing or commanding their personnel. There was intense swearing as well as cups of teas flying into the wall; see Neil Warnock on YouTube for reference.
What happened with Daka was nothing to worry about, along with being comforting to Foxes because the gaffer is addressing issues. Essentially it sounds as though the Northern Irishman wanted his striker running in behind the opposition more. Not to mention urging the Zambian to press opponents using his rapid pace. The order seemed to work as Daka netted a goal almost immediately.
"“He’s [Daka’s] a goalscorer. I said to him at half-time: ‘You need to sprint. You’ve been brought to the club to sprint.’“In the first half he was a little bit passive for me. That’s his strength, because he’s solid technically, but it’s his sprinting, it’s his pressing.”Brendan Rodgers on Patson Daka, Leicester Mercury"

Former LCFC captain and Premier League title-winner Wes Morgan has been speaking about how the east Midlanders’ campaign is developing. Morgan believes the sheer amount of injuries sustained by the Foxes, especially in defence, is a major contributing factor to an uneven term.
While that statement is rather obvious, the ex-Jamaica international did make another point which was interesting. With James Justin making a much-needed comeback and Wesley Fofana hopefully returning this month, Morgan suggests all is not lost in 2021/22.
Morgan expects Justin to have a strong “impact” on the side and the top-flight following a tough and “frustrating” time for Leicester. Meanwhile, Fofana posted an update to social media of his training progress. Though no comments were made other than a cryptic ‘soon’ emoji. Fellow sidelined defender Ricardo Pereira has also been photographed with teammates at practice.
