According to a report, the Leicester City board have given their verdict on Brendan Rodgers’ future as the Foxes manager finds himself under pressure. This comes following a relatively disastrous campaign so far, along with some unacceptable results.

Would the Leicester hierarchy be able to attract, as well as afford, a higher calibre person to lead rather than Rodgers? I’m not so sure.

Then again, neither do I remain particularly impressed with some of the Northern Irishman’s methods and reasoning, especially of late. I suppose one allows the odd annoyance if the reward is decent, just like when Leicester were winning.

Lifting the FA Cup on Rodgers’ watch is not to be forgotten. Nor is the Community Shield win against Manchester City; insignificant a showpiece as some may find the occasion. Therefore there is ‘good in the bank’, so to speak. Failure to qualify for the Champions League hurt the side massively, with regards to confidence, prestige and possible funding to improve the roster.

Nothing lasts forever; there are certain Foxes fans who are dead against the former Liverpool gaffer remaining in charge. Claude Puel was sacked by Top Srivaddhanaprabha when the atmosphere at King Power Stadium turned “toxic”.

Many would argue that Rodgers is creeping into that territory; home crowd boos along with a sustained poor run of form will do the trick. Yet Foxes of Leicester envision a longer period afforded to ‘BR’ than Puel, due to the ex-Swansea boss’s aforementioned success and higher profile.

Is the dreaded vote of confidence looming at Leicester City?

Furthermore, it is said that the Leicester boss will continue on in his current capacity, and oversee the team’s overhaul in the summer.
