Youri Tielemans – 8

After what has been one of his worst runs of form since joining Leicester City in January 2019, the Belgian midfielder was back to his best against West Ham. He was regularly creating chances for players out wide, whilst also not afraid to go forward himself.

His well-struck penalty in the first half changed the momentum in the game and as a result, led to what was a Leicester resurgence in the second half. He also had a chance to give LCFC their third goal of the night when he got in behind and narrowly missed a difficult volley one-on-one with Lukasz Fabianski.

There has been much conjecture about whether he still cares about the club, with the ongoing transfer speculation, however, his performance tonight, along with the passion he showed after converting his penalty, proves that he is still a quality asset to have whilst at the club.

James Maddison – 6

Maddison had a much quieter game compared to the performances he has been putting in of late. Deployed on the wing, he was starved of the ball for much of the first half, and struggled to make an impact in the second half.

While he is capable of playing out wide, it is well and truly clear that he is at his best when playing more centrally in the number 10 role as opposed to playing on the wing. He had a good chance early in the second half to trouble Fabianski, however, he sent his shot high and wide.
