Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has strangley admitted that he may not be at the east Midlands club for long, as pressure mounts on his position.

Everyone knows this season has been a challenging one for the ambitious Foxes. Rodgers‘ previous Leicester success ironically ensured he and his team’s shortcomings are more examined and damaging to his tenure.

Essentially, if the Northern Irishman had merely steered the ship steadily, without the FA Cup triumph and fifth place finishes, he would not have raised expectations so drastically on Filbert Way. Although, some of the manager’s choices this campaign were just wrong. Or, possibly, selections derived from a form of overthinking as opposed to playing directly to Leicester’s strengths.

Following criticism – specifically from supporters, as opposed to experts and pundits – Rodgers was asked about his thoughts and status in a recent press conference. In fact, the gaffer admitted that he might not even be at LCFC come the end of 2021/22:

"[Rodgers] was asked about his side’s remaining fixtures this season. But he preferred to take a more cautious approach to his position at the club.“I couldn’t afford to look – because I might not be here,” he said. “Look to the next game – that’s the mantra. So that’s all we’re doing.”TEAMtalk"

Leicester City rivals linked to integral Foxes player

You may have read speculation last week that Foxes star Wilfred Ndidi was an apparent target of Aston Villa. This ‘report‘ was met with derisive remarks from the Blue Army – including Foxes of Leicester. The player joined over five years ago, in January 2017.

Ndidi is without doubt one of the best tacklers and interceptors in world football. Yet his underwhelming passing and vision exclude him from being amongst the very best defensive midfielders, in FoL’s view.

Nevertheless, the Nigeria international is a vital part of Rodgers’ setup and a definite fan favourite at King Power Stadium. This means it is particularly unlikely that the club would even consider selling one of their premium assets to a rival side. Only a ridiculously high bid will make Ndidi a Villan.
