Wesley Fofana- Was focused but not confident enough as we are accustomed to seeing him. Received a yellow card for taking out Anthony Elanga near to the box. Nearly put a second goal for Leicester City until David de Gea denied him with a stunning save. 7

Jonny Evans- A return to action saw the Northern Irishman put on an impressive shift. Resuming his partnership with Fofana after the FA Cup final for the first time was a special moment for the veteran. 7

Nampalys Mendy- Mendy showcases why he was one of the top-performing midfielders in the AFCON. His performance didn’t let us miss Wilfred Ndidi. Unfortunately, he went off the field with an injury towards the end of the game. 7.5

Youri Tielemans- Didn’t do anything significant in the first half except receive a yellow for an unnecessary challenge. Won the most duels in the match and was very involved in covering up for his first-half disappearance. 7.5

James Maddison- Lacked physicality but made up for it in the second half by finding ‘Kelz’ into the box. Tried his best from set-pieces, but those weren’t clicking in this match. Scored a goal towards the end, but the goal was canceled upon the VAR checks. Helped out the backline several times. 8
