James Maddison’s apparent price tag has been revealed as Leicester City consider selling to fund their major summer transfer overhaul. That is according to media talk.

The timing on some of these transfer rumour stories, regardless of emanating from a roughly mid-level tier source, is poor: Maddison is in sublime form presently. Well, it’s bad timing for Leicester fans. And, on the contrary, quality play attracts potential suitors.

Essentially what I am trying to convey is that Maddison is too valuable to Leicester to sell. Even if he is being used as a pawn to obtain money in order to acquire other prospective signings. Leave the most efficiently preforming stars alone!

Which leads me to the ‘news’ which emerged at the weekend. Basically, LCFC will supposedly accept bids of £50million for ‘Madders’. A valuation which seems low for an international footballer of his calibre with over two years remaining on his current contract.

The King Power outfit are connected with an interest in players such as Charles De Ketelaere, Noni Madueke and Brennan Johnson at the moment. Yet none of the previously mentioned are probably going to replicate what the unique playmaker creates. De Ketelaere is arguably the closest in style or positioning.

Next up for Leicester City

It’s the Europa Conference League this Thursday night for the King Power club. A second-ever European quarter-final following defeat by Atletico Madrid in the 2016/17 edition of the Champions League. In addition to an already significant night, the newly unveiled statue of Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha will make the evening further emotionally charged.

When the draw was made for this round of the UECL, many of the East Midlands outfit’s faithful said on social media PSV were the most difficult club to been drawn against. However, the Foxes are on a decent run so will be gunning for progression. Nevertheless, with the initial fixture at home, Foxes of Leicester predict a cagey affair.
