The latest Leicester City starlet has made the jump to the first team and is now seeing action. Here is everything to know about Lewis Brunt.

‘They told me he was a central midfielder, but he’s playing at leftback, very well’, is pretty much along the lines of what I said when Brunt made his accomplished senior debut for the Foxes on 8 January, 2022. Leicester thumped Watford 4-1 in the FA Cup on that day; a situation perfectly timed to introduce the 21-year-old who was composed and neatly skilled.

Being versatile is also a precious virtue at elite level: at six-foot-two, the former Aston Villa man can possibly be deployed as a centreback, or an LCB. That is as well as in the middle. Brunt went on make a maiden Premier League appearance versus Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

LCFC Manager Brendan Rodgers wanted to test his player with a tricky start versus Spurs. That is due to expectations of big things for the ex-Gloucester City loanee:

"“He’s [Lewis Brunt’s] a really talented player…”“He might get some more game-time, or not. He’ll have pre-season with the first team and then we’ll assess it from there.”Leicester Mercury"

Roma vs Leicester City in the Europa Conference League semifinal showdown

Foxes of Leicester bring you everything important before the East Midlanders’ second encounter with the Italian side, via lcfc.com and other sites. Jose Mourinho is their manager, if you weren’t aware. And the Portuguese is especially well-known in England, having managed Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham. Brendan Rodgers is an former colleague, when the pair were with the Blues. Much respect has been shown between the pair.

Winning the match, which kicks off at 8pm BST, is vital for the King Power club to continue their rapidly upwards trajectory. This is because lifting the UECL trophy is also a route back into Europe again next season. With Premier League form being uneven this campaign, to say the least, the competition is a potentially salvaging moment.
