Leicester City are blessed with Jonny Evans, Wesley Fofana, and Caglar Soyuncu at the moment. We have had some great centre-backs, here are the best five.

From Ryan Bennett to Wes Morgan, the King Power club have had myriad quality of defenders. Some have been trash at defending, others have been impressive and earned big money moves away from the side.

So, let us recall those players who made us all happy to be Foxes. There are obvious inclusions as well as obvious exclusions. However, I am going to limit us to our Premier League journey since the great escape of the 2014/15 season.

Leicester City’s escape artists

I’m going to give three mentions from the 14/15 season. The King Power side needed to defend strongly to have any chance of staying up, and it was a mixture of Nigel Pearson’s ruthlessness and passion which created defenders who could actually defend.

The first player to mention is obvious. Wes Morgan. Former captain, leader, legend, and mainstay of the Foxes in the Premier League. He was experienced, strong, and composed. These facets were critical in our survival in the league.

Second, you cannot have ‘Big Wes’ without ‘Huthy’. Robert Huth was our rock. Brought in on loan halfway through the 14/15 season, the German defender signalled the start of the great escape and brought the King Power side a much-needed experience and aerial dominance alongside Morgan.
