Leicester City have endured a frustratingly dull transfer window so far, with fans becoming ever-more frustrated at the inaction.

So far, the Foxes have not signed a single senior player, nor made a significant sale. When comparing this to other teams such as Aston Villa, this has led to the questioning of the club’s ambition. To hopefully allay such fears, here is the latest news that might spark Leicester fans’ interest.

Christian Eriksen in a Leicester City shirt?

Christian Eriksen became one of the feel-good stories when he returned to the Premier League after his near-death experience during the Euros. During his time at Brentford, Eriksen showed he is still an outstanding player, registering one goal and four assists in 11 games. More importantly, the midfielder spearheaded the Bees’ push to avoid relegation with eventual ease.

As Eriksen is now out of contract, having only signed a short-term deal, there is hot competition for his signature. Whilst City have reportedly made an offer according to multiple reports, so have others including Brentford, Tottenham and Manchester United. Thomas Frank, the Brentford manager, said that a decision would be made in two weeks whilst also admitting he would love to retain Eriksen’s services.

At this time it is ultimately difficult to tell where he is going to go, given the number of conflicting reports. Leicester could do with a player of Eriksen’s talents, yet it seems like the Foxes are not his first choice through reading the reports. Maybe, however, Eriksen may wish to link up with his fellow compatriots at LCFC, namely Kasper Schmeichel and the much-maligned Jannik Vestergaard.

Leicester City join the race for Armando Broja

Another of the many potential transfers that LCFC could be in for is Chelsea striker Armando Broja. With Chelsea having a plethora of talent, they inevitably will cash in on some of it, thus the Albanian may be available for purchase.

Last season, Broja got his first taste of Premier League action, scoring six goals in 32 appearances. Stylistically, he would fit reasonably well into the side due to his pace and work rate. Whilst he put in a handful of impressive displays, however, there are concerns around his link-up play which saw him register just 61.4% pass accuracy.

For these reasons, Broja would not be a worthwhile purchase given the number and calibre of strikers already at the club. With finances already limited, it would be unwise to invest the reported £30m valuation in someone who didn’t exactly rip up any trees at Southampton. Furthermore, interest stated by the Daily Mail is not one to be taken with more than a pinch of salt, with more credible sources putting West Ham at the front of the queue for the Albanian.
