With less than three weeks until Leicester City kick off their 2022/23 campaign at home to Brentford and seemingly no imminent arrivals at the King Power Stadium, this is quickly becoming a summer of discontent for fans of the Foxes.
It’s clear from Brendan Rodgers’ quotes in the press that incoming transfers will depend largely on getting others out of the door, but the lack of any concrete speculation. Coupled with the appointment of a Head of Recruitment who is unable to join until after the transfer window means the Blue Army can be forgiven for raising concerns.
The news that the club had entered early discussions surrounding AS Monaco’s Sofiane Diop was no doubt a welcome relief, if only as a sign that the club’s hierarchy was interested in bringing some new faces to the training ground this pre-season.
