Amidst the chaos of the transfer window, Leicester City fans have contained their emotions without the adequate funds for any promised rebuild.

Brendan Rodgers has tried to contain his frustrations and divert his answers in front of the media. He has emphasized the importance of his team connecting with the local culture to establish a shared identity with the community.

Yet, those words were simply not assuring enough to cover up for the lack of business before the start of another new calendar. In their first few warm-up games, we noticed that there’s a lack of quality in leadership, organization, and talent in City‘s ranks.

The redundant squad depth only makes the outfit abundant- with many underutilized first-team players. Moreover, on the pitch, the continued issues with the defensive department have stayed prevalent during their pre-seasonal outings.

Things are far from the promised utopian state, but that doesn’t mean it’s unmanageable. If someone can prevent a shipwreck, it must be Rodgers with his credentials on the line.

The Northern Irishman has boasted that his squad doesn’t lack in quality, and it’s time to put that on display. The Foxes can only get out of this mess if they confidently rely on what they’ve got.

Aside from the top players that generally trap one’s eyeballs, the Foxes need other players from their ranks to step up big time to cover up the additional established gap between them against all others. A season without European football will mean less revenue, and back-to-back seasons without it may bring catastrophic changes.

By all means, Leicester City cannot afford another setback. The football pyramid expands every season. Now more than ever, revenue generation has become an absolute necessity for any side that wants to compete and is not funded by Oligarchs.
