Leicester City outscored Preston by 2-1 in a pre-season friendly played at Deepdale Stadium where Jamie Vardy and Harvey Barnes were on the scoring sheet.

The new Premier League season is approaching fast and henceforth the players are doing their best to get their fitness back on track. Two friendlies were played out yesterday against Derby County and Preston respectively. Both the games ended in the favour of Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes squad, as the gaffer travelled with a stronger side to Deepdale. Assistant manager Chris Davies was in charge at Pride Park. Foxes of Leicester now looks at certain important take away points from this friendly fixture.

Leicester City Jamie Vardy is not stopping anytime soon

The English striker will be turning 36 in the coming New Year, and is not showing any signs of slowing down at all, really. Even though an injury ruined much of last season, he managed to score 15 goals and was the eighth highest scorer in the domestic league.

A first-half strike against the Championship side yesterday showed the touch and clinical nature is in abundance presently. He already holds the record for being the oldest player to win the Golden Boot in the English top-flight at the age of 33. The former England No.9 proves that age is pretty much just a number. At least for him.
