Harvey Barnes price tag revealed with EPL club interested
An apparent price tag for Harvey Barnes has been revealed as Premier League club Newcastle United supposedly eye a move for Leicester City’s star winger.
Unfortunately for Foxes fans they were recently informed by in the know reporter, John Percy, that some key Leicester players may have to be sold. That measure could be taken so that new signings can be made.
Though, obviously, selling your eminent and most impressive performers can be absolutely counterproductive. For example, there is talk of James Maddison being on that list. But the playmaker is enjoying the form of his life, in spite of a lack of recognition from England manager Gareth Southgate.
Offloading Maddison to acquire a lesser athlete for the same role, with enough profit left over to purchase more underachieving defenders such as Jannik Vestergaard and Ryan Bertrand, is not preferable to the Blue Army. I can assure LCFC of that!
Meanwhile Harvey Barnes, another absolutely integral part of the King Power side, is said to be in Newcastle United’s sights. Though a supposed £50million transfer fee shall hopefully see off the Magpies. If Barnes adds further consistency, he should be pushing to be the top goal contributor on Filbert Way.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall speaks following Leicester City friendly match
Dewsbury-Hall’s rise at Leicester cannot exactly be described as fast tracked. No, careful consideration and loan moves were orchestrated to truly assess the now undroppable Foxes midfielder.
Late bloomer is not the correct phrase, but maybe someone at the club could have attempted to have the right person – Brendan Rodgers – recognise the obviously talent prior to 2021. Or an earlier risk could’ve perhaps been taken in order to establish the 23-year-old at top tier level sooner. He turns 24 in September so at least he is now fully involved.
On Saturday, the East Midlands outfit played dual friendlies by splitting Rodgers’ first team in half. This was achieved, as ever in preseason, by using some prospects from the Development Squad as well.
Dewsbury-Hall featured heavily in the Preston North End fixture. After the win versus PNE, the two-assist Englishman spoke to lcfc.com:
"“It’s a good win in the end, we played excellently in the first half and showed what we’re about. The second half was a bit tougher fitness-wise, we just had to keep in the game and we saw it out pretty well.”"
