Tielemans contract situation an undoubted worry for Leicester
The suggestion that Youri Tielemans won’t consider signing even a short-term contract extension is definitely an undoubted worry for Leicester City.
To be honest, Foxes of Leicester were not going to write about the so-called ‘Tielemans transfer saga’ anymore this summer. But as we attempted to place focus elsewhere for some time now, we will briefly revisit the situation.
Essentially the highly rated midfielder, who underperformed somewhat last season, reportedly wishes to leave the Foxes. Unfortunately for him, the most iconic sides around don’t seem interested. Leaving Premier League team Arsenal, who now constantly teeter on the edge of the top four, with a remaining interest.
Another problem is that only small and insignificant bids are expected for the Belgium international due to a 2023 expiry date on his existing contract. Although, LCFC chairman Khun Top Srivaddhanaprabha confirmed that they have had no offers for Tielemans over the offseason.
The conundrum is especially relevant now following new information. Reliable details emerged from reporter and expert of top tier business, Fabrizio Romano. He claims that the Gunners are ‘focusing on different areas‘; yet there is still a possibility an approach will be made via Leicester.
Another credible journalist, John Percy, suggested that the 25-year-old is ‘reluctant’ to sign a one-year extension at King Power Stadium. That manoeuvre would arguably help him secure his big move in a year, and simultaneously means LCFC might perhaps arrange a higher and fairer fee for their asset. I wouldn’t want to see Tielemans’ reputation tarnished for leaving Leicester on a free transfer.
Promising Leicester City prospect goes out on loan
South African midfielder Khanya Leshabela has joined Crewe Alexandra. Crewe will compete in League Two next season. Leshabela is a player FoL view as a decent Foxes prospect.
While this is the first business conducted by the King Power team with another outfit this offseason, it won’t ease the Blue Army’s collective worries that no signings have occurred. Sadly the East Midlands club are apparently the only European club still to secure a player in the current window. Though, the Foxes squad does look fresh, healthy and hungry.
