Foxes of Leicester explain why Leicester City trio Boubakary Soumare, Jannik Vestergaard and Hamza Choudhury were out of the Foxes squad versus Brentford.

Before we begin the article proper, have you gotten over Leicester‘s capitulation on Sunday yet? I know I haven’t: the entire collapse and surrender was down to Brendan Rodgers’ inept and misguided game management. The team put the effort in, was organised and focused – but the minute the indefensible manager ripped the soul from midfield, confidence and structure drained from King Power Stadium.

The Blue Army can blame players such as Daniel Amartey all they like, nonetheless, Jonny Evans and Wilfred Ndidi didn’t aid the Ghana international at all in blocking the equaliser. Whilst the pair seemingly confused their teammate when the entire trio should be aware that Josh Dasilva is predominantly left-footed so was always going for the obvious sweet spot.

Not to mention all of us knowing in our hearts that Amartey should not be starting LCFC matches in the Premier League. The latter is committed, though he is simply not talented enough for the Foxes XI, in my opinion.

Alright, now that the rant is over, let’s get to the business at hand. Firstly, Hamza Choudhury has completed a season-long loan with Championship outfit Watford. The Hornets should be delighted they have such a trustworthy and competitive midfielder among their ranks. This also explains Choudhury’s absence versus the Bees in the weekend clash. Though he may not have been required, by Rodgers, anyway.

With respect to Boubakary Soumare and Jannik Vestergaard, two more of the unwanted personnel which could depart this summer, the Northern Irishman said that they were left out, in the most cryptic manner imaginable.

When asked after the game about Soumare, Rodgers merely stated that he “wasn’t involved” – thanks for the information, Sherlock. The boss subsequently indicated that similar disfavour applied to Vestergaard, who was ‘outside the 20 [matchday squad] today’. In fact, the Dane is supposedly up for sale; meanwhile the Frenchman could potentially also be unwanted.
