It is currently the transfer deadline day. And Leicester City is looking to make some serious moves after selling Wesley Fofana to Chelsea.

The Foxes’ first big signing of the window was just confirmed as Belgian defender Wout Faes. Faes was signed from Reims for £15million. The 24-year-old bolsters a defense that has been struggling at the start of the season.

And there’s reportedly more help on the way. Legendary left-back Marcelo is expected to sign a one-year deal with the Foxes, according to journalist Marti Miras. Friend of Foxes of Leicester and transfer expert, Ekrem Konur, also suggests a deal for Marcelo is imminent on Filbert Way.

Wow. Simply wow! Marcelo has arguably the best left-back of the past decade. He’s given many historic moments for Real Madrid and the Brazilian national team. Now he’ll show the world his love for the game in the King Power Stadium. The 34-year-old had spent the last 17 seasons with Real Madrid. In 416 appearances with the team, he contributed 64 assists, 30 goals, and plenty of help on the defensive side of the ball.

Marcelo will join Leicester City and automatically become the team’s most accomplished player: a five-time champions league winner, six-time La Liga winner and he’s been elected to UEFA’s Team of the Year on three occasions.

Accomplishments like these are going to inspire the team and that’s exactly what this unmotivated side needs. Just imagine what a youngster like James Justin is going to learn from Marcelo! The East Midland outfit has been chaotic since the Wesley Fofana transfer drama – Marcelo’s veteran leadership may bring focus and confidence back.

Most importantly, Marcelo provides so much help out wide. The Rio de Janeiro-born icon loves to get the ball forward, much like Justin. When the team is lacking in creativity or the ability to attack constantly, Marcelo will get that ball moving.

LCFC has also been struggling with injuries for the past couple of seasons. Fullbacks have had it rough as Ricardo Pereira ruptured his Achilles this season. Marcelo comes into the squad and gives a much-needed boost to the fullback.

Marcelo is apparently on his way to England to get his medical completed. He will hopefully be able to be paraded alongside Faes in front of the Leicester fanbase today.
