Leicester City returns to action on Saturday to take on Tottenham Hotspur as the Premier League gets back underway. The Foxes have yet to claim a win in the league this season and Brendan Rodgers will be desperate for a victory to kickstart what has been a poor campaign for the East Midlands side.

Rodgers has played a number of different systems this season to date so predicting the starting 11 is a difficult task to say the least.

Expected Leicester City XI:

Danny Ward will start in between the sticks in City’s clash on Saturday. Despite the disappointing start to the season for Ward, Rodgers has backed the Welsh goalkeeper to find some form in his first season as first-choice keeper.

Predicting the goalkeeper is the easiest part of this list as it remains difficult to guess what formation the LCFC boss will run with. For this prediction I have gone with a 5-3-2 formation, with Timothy Castagne and James Justin to play as wingbacks.

Both players are versatile enough to play on either side, but Castagne will likely start on the right with Justin on the left. Despite being dropped from the line-up last time out, Rodgers will bring the Belgian defender back into the side to avoid a repeat of the Brighton disaster.

Jonny Evans will start in the middle of the backline, with Wilfred Ndidi and new-signing Wout Faes to occupy the other centre back positions. In the middle of the park, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Youri Tielemans will start just behind James Maddison who will play the number 10 role.

With Jamie Vardy yet to set the world alight this season, ‘BR’ will elect to use the same strike partnership as he did in the Foxes’ last game with Patson Daka and Kelechi Iheanacho to start. The pair made their presence felt in the forgetful clash against Brighton and Hove Albion as they both found the back of the net.
