Leicester predicted XI vs Fulham: Maddison, Evans, Daka injuries
Foxes of Leicester predict the Leicester City lineup for the Fulham fixture at King Power Stadium on Tuesday. Along with detailing injuries to James Maddison, Jonny Evans and Patson Daka and stating the LCFC stars’ various return dates.
Welcome to FoL. I hope all of our readers enjoyed their New Year celebrations. But let’s get back to the football now, as it’s the reason we are here!
Before the Foxes play the Cottagers in the Premier League as we head towards midweek, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers updated media and supporters on the fitness of his squad. According to Leicestershire Live, the Northern Irishman will be without seven players, unfortunately, making selection more tricky.
First of all, and most importantly: Maddison. Sadly, if you got your hopes up, the England international won’t feature versus Fulham. The playmaker is as vital to LCFC as anyone; Maddison is undoubtedly the side’s best player by quite a way, regardless of that verdict being subjective. Rodgers said the midfielder should hopefully make a fully fit comeback in seven to 10 days.
Next up is Evans; the club captain has also shown himself to be very crucial to the team over the past few seasons. However, the Northern Ireland veteran will be out of action until February.
Daka is another who probably won’t be involved on January 3rd; the Zambian has a hamstring issue sustained on Merseyside. Meanwhile Dennis Praet ‘continues his recovery. Ricardo Pereira, James Justin and Ryan Bertrand, all fullbacks, round off the injured group. Our expected starting XI is thereby below:
Danny Ward; Luke Thomas, Wout Faes, Daniel Amartey, Timothy Castagne; Wilfred Ndidi; Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Youri Tielemans; Harvey Barnes, Ayoze Perez; Jamie Vardy.
Leicester City’s loss at Liverpool
Whether Wout Faes’ two ridiculous and untimely own goals could or should have been avoided or not – both were arguably avoidable – the east Midlands team deserved something at Anfield. Yeah, I said it – you don’t have to be a Leicester fan to understand that much from watching the game.
In spite of injuries, collective spirit and due diligence could have maybe gotten LCFC a point. A couple of freakish moments emanating from a signing who’s been fantastic overall won’t happen again any time soon, we hope!
