Leicester plot transfer for England international midfielder
According to a Chelsea writer, Leicester City are plotting a potential transfer for former England midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Is this a good possible signing for the Foxes?
First of all, I have always been a fan of Loftus-Cheek since he burst onto the scene on loan with Crystal Palace and with the senior Blues side. His calibre is undoubted, as England caps all the way up to the very top level attest. It is conceivable that only injuries – and there have been many, and for lengthy periods on the sidelines – robbed the midfield man of his Three Lions squad place.
‘RLC’ hasn’t featured for his national team for around four-and-a-half years now, nevertheless, he is a world-class player. That is why CFC have held on to him throughout all the setbacks. While I believe he’d be a great addition at Leicester, his fitness record is particularly alarming.
So, where did the link to Filbert Way originate? Via Chelsea reporter Simon Phillips. Phillips has a large group of followers at nearly 350,000. You can see the check out the story, here.
Leicester City boss immediately asked about transfers after awful derby defeat – with a curt response
Following the fairly horrible loss to Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest, an LCFC correspondent instantly inquired with the Leicester gaffer as to when new faces would be coming in. Brendan Rodgers might perhaps have been slightly taken aback with the directness of the question when his men had just been beaten – but I liked it!
Essentially the Northern Irishman said, in terse appearing fashion, that if the King Power outfit sign someone “the club will let you know“. The abruptness of which probably did not surprise Jordan Blackwell. As usual, Rodgers followed that brief as possible statement by confirming that work is going on behind the scenes.
If only that ‘work’ would come to fruition, because this club really is beginning to flirt with relegation. It isn’t too much to ask that some of the hundreds of millions made buying players at a low price and selling exorbitantly high be spent. Funds generated should also be reinvested into personnel along with the stadium and training ground. Come on Khun Top Srivaddhanaprabha, get the wallet out!
