Leicester City are reportedly interested in Bologna talent Lewis Ferguson. Here is what you need to know about the player, and my opinion on the target.

The King Power club are continuing their search for a possible Youri Tielemans replacement before the ‘Starman’ exits the club in the coming transfer window. The summer will see the Foxes forced into either a big signing, or an impressive bargain of a deal. Leicester are seemingly hoping for the latter with talk of Lewis Ferguson.

Just a reminder, Brendan Rodgers currently has Wilfred Ndidi, Boubakary Soumare, Papy Mendy, Dennis Praet, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, James Maddison, and several highly promising youth players who can play in midfield. Another player is likely just icing on the cake.

Leicester City’s what to know

As per the usual, I like to detail three crucial pieces of information regarding any potential signing: their position/versatility, their stylistic preference/role, and what value that player has to the side plus what cost there is. These are all important when speaking about players we have less exposure to.

For the Scot, Ferguson is a midfielder, central. Offering very little coverage outside of that, the Serie A talent can also be utilised as an attacking-midfielder, or a defensive midfielder depending upon requirements. This level of flexibility mirrors most midfielders and of course the outgoing Tielemans.
