Foxes of Leicester detail a Leicester City injury report on Ricardo Pereira, Youri Tielemans and Harvey Barnes. The Foxes have one boost and two issues ahead of a trip north to face Manchester City.

The prospect of playing Man City away is never an appealing one. Whilst the King Power club have managed to produce some excellent results against Pep Guardiola’s team over the years, much of the Blue Army seem pessimistic about a result this time around.

Dean Smith gave his first LCFC press conference on Friday morning ahead of the game. During that time, the latest boss of the east Midlands side talked about the fitness of his new squad. Obviously that topic includes which athletes are ready to feature and who is sidelined.

Smith will be without two highly important stars this weekend with Ricardo ruled out, along with Barnes being unavailable; both have hamstring issues. Unfortunately the versatile Portuguese won’t return for a few weeks because his problem is worse than the Englishman’s. Meanwhile the winger might perhaps be fit for the Wolverhampton Wanderers fixture on Saturday, April 22. Although, there was a piece of very encouraging news regarding another area of the pitch: central midfield. Tielemans is back training so is available for the Citizens clash and ‘could play some part’, according to the new gaffer.

Not that it matters in the grand scheme of things, but Fantasy Premier League players will be upset that the winger is unavailable for gameweek 31. Barnes is a bit of a favourite ‘differential’ choice amongst certain FPL participants. However, while the once-capped Three Lions man is often highlighted as a possibly good selection by the game’s social media accounts, the Fox is only selected by 2.2 per cent of contestants. That figure will now drop in spite of the hope of quick turnaround for the 25-year-old.
