Foxes of Leicester discuss potential and realised Leicester City departures, following nine players who could leave the Foxes being named alongside leaver Youri Tielemans.

If ever there was an ‘end of an era‘, it would be the contemporary time at LCFC. First out of the door was Tielemans. He’ll be forever fondly remembered for a historic as well as terrific FA Cup Final-winning goal. Nevertheless, he was not up to his usual standards for his last Leicester season.

Which other stars will go after or alongside Tielemans? Caglar Soyuncu, Jonny Evans, Daniel Amartey, Ryan Bertrand, Papy Mendy and Ayoze Perez are all now free agents. I can only see Amartey possibly staying. Mirror claim that the Foxes will consider or be forced to sell James Maddison and Harvey Barnes. Along with Wilfred Ndidi potentially becoming part of a prospective exodus.

What Jonny Evans said of his Leicester City future

Evans seems slightly resigned to the fact that Leicester won’t offer him another deal, or a suitable extension at least. And I can’t blame the club when considering the centreback’s age and poor recent injury and appearance record. Who knows, maybe the Northern Ireland international believes there is an up-and-coming or recently promoted EPL side ready to give him one final shot on the big stage. To be fair, he could certainly operate a squad role with many English top-flight teams.

Will Evans be at Leicester next season in the second tier? Probably not. Earlier in the campaign Brendan Rodgers declared that he would opt to keep the former Manchester United man, but that is definitely in the past.

So what did Evans actually say to media after the east Midlands outfit were sadly relegated last Sunday? First of all, the defender understands question marks lingering over his own longevity and fitness; he confirms that negotiations or a final decision has not been made by LCFC. He understands the club is in ‘limbo’. Finally, by repeatedly suggesting that he has ‘loved his time at King Power Stadium‘, it does feel as though the CB is about to exit. The supporters appreciate his efforts over the years.
