There has been confirmation of a Leicester City transfer as defender Caglar Soyuncu leaves. Star fullback Timothy Castagne may be next to go.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has confirmed that Foxes defender Caglar Soyuncu will join the Spaniards. Simeone said that Soyuncu will ‘help their defence’.

"“Soyüncü will join us, yes — he’s gonna help in the defence”, he told Cope. “Santiago Mourino will also join (from Racing Club de Montevideo), we will see him in the preseason. We have good expectations.”Leicestershire Live"

Will Timothy Castagne be the next well-known, well-liked but ultimately underperforming Leicester City player to depart the Foxes?

As we all know, it is going to he difficult if not impossible for Leicester to convince their best players to stay. Wage structure-wise, there are also obvious issues following demotion to the second English division.

Naturally many sides seem to be after James Maddison; the No.10 is undoubtedly qualified to be in a top six Premier League squad. While the clubs apparently tracking Harvey Barnes are justifiably just out of that eminent bracket, such as Aston Villa. Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are also said to admire Barnes; I would be surprised if either of those previously mentioned outfits signed the winger as a possible starter, but a backup role could be impactful.

Meanwhile Timothy Castagne was named alongside the aforementioned prominent pair as another star the east Midlanders will find hard to keep. Now, Castagne features regularly for Belgium and is rated, though I think he had a pretty poor season overall. Much joy from opposition wingmen was found on whichever side the Belgian occupied. We might have expected slightly more output in an attacking sense, too, in spite of a few standout moments.

Dean Jones told GIVEMESPORT that the former Atalanta wingback will probably be out of LCFC‘s exit door soon. Nevertheless, the fullback is too impressive of an athlete to reside in the Championship; unless a decent team in the other top four European leagues do admire Castagne, he may also be given an understudy role. The 27-year-old will be fortunate if sides of the standing that are currently pursuing Barnes go for him as well.
