A formerly high profile Premier League manager has apparently rejected an approach from Leicester City. Was Graham Potter ever likely to join? Consequently, the Foxes are supposedly readying an offer for another boss. Will Steven Gerrard takeover at King Power Stadium?

While Leicester have conducted talks with Dean Smith over a possible permanent role as manager, it appears there are many irons in the fire on Filbert Way. Potter seemed to arguably be the priority for LCFC as they aim to successfully rebuild with someone who has been there and done it. Regarding the man who “failed” at Chelsea – if you ask social media – his most notable achievement similar to what the club require was with Brighton & Hove Albion. His Swansea City tenure is also comparable and encouraging for the Foxes.

However, Potter doesn’t sound keen on the Leicester job, if we believe the latest report on the matter. According to ‘sources’ of Football Insider, the onetime Ostersunds gaffer isn’t interested in taking over at KPS. He is said to have ‘rejected an approach’ from the Leicestershire outfit. One coincidental yet trivial fact is that the former was sacked by the Blues mere hours after Brendan Rodgers was dismissed from Leicester. This next bit of information will really hurt the Blue Army: Potter wishes to return to ‘top level management’. Leicester would still be in the big time if the club was steered correctly over the last two seasons.

Leicester City prepared to offer Steven Gerrard head coach role

Gerrard is another alternative who purportedly appeals to LCFC as the search for a new boss continues. And the Foxes owners are preparing to make the Liverpool legend a proposal to take charge. Although, the east Midlands side must act fast because fellow demoted team Leeds United are eyeing Gerrard as well.
