3 Leicester players who deserve a chance in Northampton friendly
Victor Kristiansen
The Danish fullback is in the same situation as Souttar. Victor Kristiansen was signed in the January transfer window for £14 million. Souttar played well in his appearances. However, Kristiansen was fantastic. He was leaving players the caliber of Dejan Kulusevski and Leon Bailey useless on the pitch. These performances were coming from a 19-year-old who just came from the Danish football league.
Then Dean Smith came into the squad and was playing Luke Thomas over him. Thomas played well in the absence of Kristiansen and then became regularly selected into the starting eleven. Now with Thomas fresh off a U21 Euro championship victory, he has all of the momentum in the world. Kristiansen deserves the chance to be selected every game into the starting eleven. A great performance vs Northampton could give him that chance.
Zach Booth
Now being in the Championship, Leicester has the opportunity to give playing time to youth players who wouldn’t have got the chance in the English Premier League. If successful in their Championship campaigns, they will get their deserved playing time in the EPL. The Foxes have talented youth players who deserve this opportunity. One of them goes by the name of Zach Booth.
The 19-year-old American midfielder joined the Leicester youth academy in the 2020/2021 season. He has enjoyed success in the Youth academy and in the USMNT U19. He is a midfielder who is talented at passing the ball and running around the pitch. He is a similar player to his brother, Taylor Booth, who has been linked to Manchester United. Maresca has a potential gem on his hands. He should embrace the gem and let him play instead of leaving him in the dirt.
